Renew and reserve library items Renew and reserve library items

How to search, renew and reserve library items

You can renew items 10 times before you have to return them to a library. Although your renewals may be limited if you have charges on your items or an item is reserved by another library user. You can renew:

  • Books up to three weeks
  • DVDs up to one week (at a charge)
  • Music CDs up to three weeks (at a charge)
  • Audio Book sets up to three weeks (at a charge)

Do it online

Sign in by entering your library barcode number and Pin on the 'Sign in' section of this page.

To search for an item use the 'Search the catalogue' field on the top of the page. Once you identify an item you are interested you can reserve it.

A list of the items you have borrowed can be accessed from the 'My loans' section. Here you will be able to renew items if available and see applicable charges.

At your local Redbridge library

You can take either your books or your library card to any Redbridge Library for renewal. It is better to renew your items a couple of days before the due date to reduce the risk of overdue charges. Staff can also help search for and reserve an item for you.

Use our automated renewals service (24 hours)

Call 0333 370 4700 and have your library card barcode number ready. Listen carefully to the prompts and follow the instructions.
