Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) Information Centres in libraries
Staff and volunteers have been trained to support local residents to access information online about a range of issues. Residents can visit libraries and receive support to find information on websites such as AdviceGuide. The information could be about Benefits, Work, Tax, Relationships and other everyday issues.
If you need help with finding information on these sorts of issues, simply visit your local library and ask a staff member or volunteer. You will need a library membership to use the computers. It is free and quick to set up an account if you don't have one already. Depending on the nature of your enquiry, staff or volunteers will be able to direct you to the right information on the website. Those with urgent or complex cases will be referred to the CAB.
Look out for future developments in libraries, where customers will be able to receive support to carry out a number of transactions online.
