Upminster Library is situated on the eastern edge of the Borough of Havering and is well used by the residents of Upminster, Cranham, parts of Hornchurch and parts of Essex.

The Library was originally situated in "The Clockhouse" in St Mary's Lane. The Library in Corbets Tey Road was opened on the 2nd October 1963 and underwent an extensive refurbishment during 2004. The newly refurbished library opened in January 2005 and is a positive focus for the local community. The building has an open welcoming feel and includes Peoples Network computers and a Meeting room.

Upminster Library is situated in the heart of a busy shopping centre and is within a large diverse housing area, with excellent schools and a college close by. The main retail area in Upminster has a selection of large supermarkets, independent clothes shops, pharmacies, butchers, fish shops, hairdressers, beauticians and a large fashion and furniture retail store, along with restaurants, public houses, takeaways several churches and a post office.

Transport
The library is situated between St Lawrence's Church and Upminster Park. Buses 370, 248, 346 and 347 stop nearby.
Upminster is the last station on the District line, and provides the C2C Rail link to Fenchurch Street
