Central Library is situated on the ring road at the junction of the A118 and the A125. The library was originally built in the early 1960's and was reopened after refusbishment in 2010. It is the largest library in the Borough and has an I.T suite, a local studies and family history centre, along with meeting room facilities.

Romford is served by local buses to Collier Row, Harold Hill, Harold Wood, Hornchurch, Upminster, Cranham, South Hornchurch, Rainham, Stapleford Abbotts, Lakeside, Brentwood and London via, Ilford, Stratford & Dagenham. Rail links includes: Branch line between Upminster and Romford, National Express rail service to Liverpool Street and routes into East Anglia via Chelmsford and Colchester and the South East to Southminster and Southend via Shenfield and Wickford.

Local open spaces & leisure facilities include; Raphael Park, Lodge Farm Park, King George's Playing Fields and nearby Bedfords Park. Romford also has a Museum, which opened in 2010.

Transport
The Central Library is located in St. Edward's Way, which is a 15-minute walk from Romford Station.
