Reading Friends Groups
Get together with a good book, poem or newspaper article. You can meet new people, make friends, chat and have a laugh. Everyone is welcome. Why not give it a try?
There are now two Reading Friends groups which meet in Bexley Libraries:
- Erith Library - third Tuesday of the month at 2pm
- Crayford Library - last Tuesday of the month at 11am - starting on Tuesday 28 January 2020
There’s no need to book – just come along and join in.

Sidcup Coding Club
There are spaces available on our new Coding Club starting Thursday 6 February at Sidcup Library 4-5pm.
An exciting introduction for 9-13 year olds to coding websites in HTML and CSS.

Join the Discovery Club!
Explore the world of science in your local library, with fun experiments and activities.
Get hands-on with science at Thamesmead and Central, Bexleyheath Libraries and become a CREST Superstar on this 8-week course, part of the official British Science Association CREST Awards.
Track your progress in your own CREST Passport with special stickers and get an official badge and certificate when you reach the end.
Starting on Monday 6th January at Central Library, Bexleyheath and Wednesday 8th January at Thamesmead Library, 4.00pm-5.00pm.
For children aged 7 to 11.
Discovery Club is Free to join but places are limited. To book your place or to find out more, contact staff at the relevant library.
Central Library’s Chatty Corner Group
A new group for people living with early stage dementia, their family, carers’ and friends has been set up at the Central Library in Bexleyheath.
This informal group meets over a cuppa for a friendly chat, puzzles and games. It’s a great opportunity to meet people too.
There’s no need to book – just come along on the 1st Friday of each month from 2pm – 3.30pm and join in.
Gardener's Coffee Club
Do you have an allotment or enjoy spending time pottering in your garden?
Would you like to meet fellow gardeners or learn about a new hobby?
Why not come along and join us for a tea or coffee and meet like-minded people!
There is no meeting in December, but meetings will resume as normal from January 2020.
Last Saturday of every month at 10:30 - 11.30am.
Come along to our brand new free DigiClub!
Develop your skills and interests in a wide range of digital making activities including 3D printing and robotics.
Central Library, Bexleyheath
First Thursday of every month,
Chaucer meeting room, 4.30 pm – 6.00 pm
For 10-16 year olds.
There will be no Digiclub in Janurary 2020 due to Christmas and New Year.
No booking required.
Reading groups for the visually impaired
Bexley Libraries hold a reading group for the visually impaired at Central Library, Bexleyheath at 10.30-12.00pm usually on the first Wednesday of each month.
