Bring along your tablet or smartphone to these FREE drop in sessions and we show you how to access free eBooks, eMagazines and how to use the library app. (Not compatible with Kindle eReaders but can be used with a Kindle Fire HD tablet)

Come along to these FREE sessions to gain knowledge and understanding of Internet and digital safety for children. These sessions are for adults who can pass on their knowledge to the younger generation.

Family Storytelling sessionsFamily Storytelling sessions
Storyteller Sally Pomme Clayton will be holding family storytelling sessions in the delightful surroundings of the Library at Danson House.

There will be four sessions
• Monday 12 February from 2pm - 2.40pm
• Monday 12 February from 3pm - 3.40pm
• Friday 16 February from 2pm - 2.40pm
• Friday 16 February from 3pm - 3.40pm

The stories be a mixture of fairy tales and Greek myths and will be suitable for families with children aged 6 and over.

Festival poet in residence, Dan Simpson will be holding three events in libraries across the borough

• Poetry workshop for adults at Sidcup Library on Wednesday 21 February from 2.30pm – 4pm
• Poetry workshop and performance for teens and young adults at Central Library on Thursday 22 February from 4pm – 6pm
• Poetry reading at Erith Library on Friday 23 February from 3.30pm – 5pm

Thamesmead Teenage Reading Group

This is a brand new reading group for ages 11 and over starting on 13th October.

This is a reading group for young people where you decide what novels to read. Discuss new authors, share book reviews, ideas for the group or even bring a favourite book to share with others who love reading, chatting, and having fun.

Living Well with Dementia and Carers GroupPicture of old letters and photographs

Central Library will be running 'A Different View Group'  for people living with dementia and their carers.  A chance to meet people with an opportunity to try out our pictures to share books and other activities.  

Please note that due to Central Library refurbishment closure, we will be holding the group at Welling Library on Friday 19th January, 10.30am-12.00 noon.

Poetry group at Welling Library

Read and discuss all types of poems. Please bring your own favourites and if you write your own – bring them along.  Fortnightly on Saturdays 3.15-4.30 at Welling Library. More information...
