Bexley Literary Festival

Book Buzz 2019

Book Buzz 2019 took place from 16 February to 2 March and had a packed programme of events and activities for adults, children, teens and families.

Highlights for children included some Horrible Science shows by best-selling author Nick Arnold, visits from authors Chloe Inkpen and Knife and Packer plus storytellers, drama workshops, animation workshops and lots of craft activities.

For adults, we had visits from the brilliant Stella Duffy, Lindsey Davis, Mike Gayle, David Hewson, Jean Fullerton, Alison Weir, Charlie Connelly, Stuart Clark and Nick Barratt. The celebrated poet, Wendy Cope returned to her Bexley roots to talk at Hall Place.

A short film of highlights from this year’s festival will be available soon.

In the meantime, here are a few photos from the launch event.

Animation workshops by Chocolate Films

Children who attended animation workshops at the Central Library on 22 February, as part of our Book Buzz Festival produced some fantastic animations using Lego, Plasticine and lots of other media.

Chocolate Films, who provided these workshops for us, have put the children's work together in a wonderful montage video.
