The libraries in Barking and Dagenham offer a wide selection of services. These include lending books for adults, young people and children, large print and talking books, CDs, DVDs, e-books, online information services, computer facilities in all libraries and Wi-Fi access in some too. This website is for searching the catalogue of all Barking and Dagenham stock and also that of the London Library Consortium, plus many other features. If you create an account you will be able to submit reviews and rate the books, films and CD's you use.
There is a reference collection at Barking Library. We provide newspapers and magazines in a number of our libraries, some in community languages for members of the public to come in to read and relax.
Both the library at Barking and the one at Dagenham have meeting rooms for hire and also have partnership areas for local community groups and organizations to promote their services. Dagenham Library is located alongside a Council one stop shop for local residents to obtain advice and information on a range of services offered by the Council and its partners. Most libraries have photocopying facilities.
