Borrowing books, CDs and DVDs from Tower Hamlets Idea Stores & Libraries is free. However, there are charges for some services and fines charged for loaned items that are overdue.
Your loans can be renewed via the Online Catalogue.
You can borrow up to 12 items for three weeks including a maximum of 4 audio visual items. If items are returned late you may have to pay a fine. Items may be renewed up to 5 times if there are no outstanding reservations attached. See below for more detailed fees and charges.

Books, CDs and CD-ROMs
Loan of Books, CDs and CD-ROMs - Free. You can borrow items for 3 weeks.
Fines, payable by adults aged 16 to 64 - 20p per day per item to a maximum of £10. Free to adults aged 65 and over.
DVDs
Loan of DVDs held within Tower Hamlets - Free. You can borrow items for 1 week.
Fines, payable by adults aged 16 to 64 - £1 per day per item to a maximum of £10. Free to adults aged 65 and over.
Audio Visual Material Disclaimer Statement
While every effort is made to ensure that our CDs and DVDs are in good working order, it is the users responsibility to check that a CD or DVD is compatible before inserting into any audio visual equipment.

Reservations / Requests for stock held within the London Libraries Consortium (LLC) - Free.
Premium Reservation Service - £5 per item for requests outside the LLC.
Charges payable by adults aged 16 to 64. Free to adults aged 65 and over.

Lost and Damaged Items
If you have lost or damaged an item that you have on loan, the following charges apply:
